by accessing or using the lichen protocol ("lichen," "we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these terms of use. if you do not agree to these terms, do not use our services.

2. description of service

lichen is a rhythm-aware diagnostic and guidance system for founders. we provide:

• diagnostic tools to assess founder operating states
• workflow protocols to resolve execution bottlenecks
• guidance systems for decision-making and prioritization
• integration with productivity and workspace tools (including notion)

3. notion integration

when you authorize lichen to integrate with your notion workspace:

• you grant us permission to access and modify content in your notion workspace as necessary to provide our services
• we will only access the specific pages and databases you explicitly authorize
• you can revoke this authorization at any time through your notion settings
• we will not share your notion data with third parties except as necessary to provide our services

4. user responsibilities

you agree to:

• provide accurate and complete information when using lichen
• maintain the security of your account credentials
• use lichen in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack our services
• not use lichen for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose

5. intellectual property

all content, features, and functionality of lichen, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are owned by the lichen protocol and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6. data and privacy

your use of lichen is also governed by our privacy policy. by using our services, you consent to our collection and use of data as described in the privacy policy.

7. limitation of liability

lichen is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. we do not guarantee that:

• the service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• defects will be corrected
• the service is free of viruses or other harmful components

to the maximum extent permitted by law, lichen shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the service.

8. termination

we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to lichen at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. you may also terminate your account at any time by discontinuing use of our services and revoking integrations.

9. changes to terms

we reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. we will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated terms on this page with a new "last updated" date. your continued use of lichen after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. third-party services

lichen may integrate with third-party services such as notion. your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. we are not responsible for the practices or policies of third-party services.

11. governing law

these terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to the jurisdiction where the lichen protocol operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
